7/26/2010
There are currently three grant and scholarship programs available to assist U.S. figure skating members:
The U.S. Figure Skating Scholastic Honors Team is designed to recognize and provide support to competitive figure skaters who have excelled not only in their sport, but in their academics and through their contributions to their communities. Junior and senior high school students are invited to apply for the 2010-11 Scholastic Honors Team. Application deadline is Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. MST
The Memorial Fund’s Academic Skaters’ Assistance Program (ASAP) and Competitive Skater’s Assistance Program (CSAP) assist current and former skaters who are enrolled in an accredited college or university and are still actively involved in the sport of figure skating. Support through ASAP is intended to be used to defray educational expenses such as tuition, fees, books and supplies. Application deadline is Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. MST
The 2010 Joyce Komperda Athlete Support Fund will award scholarships to intermediate, novice and junior athletes showing exceptional potential and who demonstrate financial need. Application deadline: Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at 4:30 pm. MST
Please read the application instructions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) carefully before completing an application. Applications and supporting material received after the indicated deadlines will not be considered.
