Total income for the period 7/1/02 through 11/30/02 was $50,365.50 and total expenses were $49,480.58. Competitors support grants of $100 were given to each skater who represented WFSC in sectional and Junior National competitions. A donation of $30 to competitors support was received as the result of a dues overpayment.
Club membership now stands at 832, with 769 home club members. The 2003 Directory is ready to print.
The December 5 dance test, which was cancelled due to snow, has been rescheduled for January 23, 2003 at SkateQuest Reston. The club is looking for ice in late February or early March to schedule additional dance tests. A request has been submitted to Mt. Vernon for 9 hours on May 31, 2003 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and 4 hours on June 1 to hold the Club freestyle and improv competitions in conjunction with the Annual Meeting.
The Holiday Dance Party on December 8 was very popular, attracting 20-30 skaters. Trina Graham is teaching the adult group lesson on the Family Session. The board would like to schedule another moves-in-the-field critique session.
A motion was passed to approve Joel Dear to teach on the Saturday and Sunday dance sessions. In addition, the board passed a motion to ratify the executive decision to purchase a quarter page ad for $25 in the Northern Virginia Area Special Olympics competition program.
